Lyall Avenue HCD Study Area
At its meeting in September 2004, City Council identified a portion of Lyall Avenue, from Main Street to Malvern Avenue, as a Heritage Conservation District Study Area. Since this time E.R.A. Architects Inc. have been examining the heritage character of the study area. The results of this study, in the form of a draft Heritage Conservation District Plan, were presented at a public meeting on March 28, 2006. Some minor changes were incorporated into the draft plan at this meeting.
The District Plan recommends designation of the study area as a Heritage Conservation District under Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act.
The District Plan, as posted below, will be considered by the Toronto Preservation Board at its meeting on Thursday May 18, 2006. It will also be considered by the Toronto and East York Community Council at its meeting on June 13, 2006. Both of these meetings will be held at City Hall and are open to the public.
