In June 2004, Toronto City Council adopted By-law No. 549-2004 to authorize a Heritage Conservation District study of the Weston area. Since then, a series of community meetings have been held to provide the public with information and facilitate discussions about the project.

Volunteers from the Weston Heritage Conservation District Board have researched the history of the area and have engaged a heritage consultant to assist in the preparation of a draft Weston Heritage Conservation District Plan. This Plan details the history and heritage character of the area and the proposed Guidelines intended to maintain and enhance that heritage character.


Preservation Board and Council Meetings

The Heritage Preservation Services unit of the City Planning Division, City of Toronto will be making a recommendation about the designation of certain streets in Weston as the first phase of the Weston Heritage Conservation District to the Toronto Preservation Board on August 31, 2006 and to the Etobicoke York Community Council on September 13, 2006. These meetings are open to the public.


Community Meetings

The draft District Plan was presented to the public at a community meeting on:
    Tuesday, June 27
    York West Seniors Centre
    1901 Weston Road
    7:00 p.m.
The consultants who prepared the draft Plan and City staff was there to answer any questions, discuss the contents of the draft Plan and receive comments from meeting attendees.
