The Social Housing Renovation and Retrofit Program (SHRRP) has had a major impact on the quality of social housing in Toronto. For SHRRP Years 1 and 2 combined, over $250 million has been allocated to over 150 social housing providers and has funded over 2,100 individual projects.
Payments to housing providers are ongoing. To date, 3,220 payments totalling nearly $148 million have been made for SHRRP Years 1 and 2. A few days before a payment is deposited to your housing provider bank account you will receive an e-mail giving you the details.
It is important that you are aware of the deadlines for your SHRRP projects. Please refer to this link for the SHRRP Program Deadlines. Please note that if you have completed your Year 1 project(s) but have not yet submitted your Project Completion Report (PCR), you should do this as soon as possible because the Year 1 deadline of December 31, 2011 is fast-approaching.
Please note that there will be no Year 3 of SHRRP. It is only a two-year program and all program funds have been allocated.
Important Reminder: The program requirements for SHRRP require that you use a competitive or comparative process to obtain all goods and services. A minimum of three (3) quotes/bidders is required. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the cancellation of funding for the SHRRP project(s) where the requirement was not followed. Refer to the "General Requirements" section of your Project Funding Agreement for more details.
