Statutory notices
Notices under the Municipal Act, 2001: The City is required to give notice to the public of intent to pass by-laws, for a number of actions and to provide other information. City Council determines the type of notice unless specified by the Municipal Act, 2001. Council adopted the minimum public notice requirements for notice given under certain sections of the Act (City of Toronto Municipal Code, Chapter 162, Notice, Public). The notice requirements include posting on the City's website.
The City of Toronto Municipal Code is updated four times a year. To check for recent amendments to Chapter 162 which may not yet be incorporated into the chapter, see the recent amendment list.
