Study Overview
The City of Toronto is studying ways to improve Allen Road for the people who travel on it and the communities that surround it. The study will follow a provincially mandated Environmental Assessment process. It will investigate current challenges and opportunities in the Allen Road corridor from Eglinton Avenue West to just south of Transit Road. Currently, the study will create the Terms of Reference (also known as the "Framework" or "Work Plan") to guide possible future studies.

Study Area
Map of Study AreaThe Primary Study Area extends 100 metres on either side of the Allen Road right-of-way (500 metre radius at subway stations) between Eglinton Avenue West to just south of Transit Road. Within this area the study will focus on the following tasks:

  • Inventory of existing and future conditions
  • Evaluation process
  • Identification and screening of alternative solutions

The larger Context Area extends from west of Keele Street to east of Avenue Road and from north of Sheppard Avenue to south of St. Clair Avenue. Its purpose is to define a broader area in which implications to the overall street network and land-use will be assessed.
