The Road Alteration Report and associated attachment (drawings) for the Bay, Davenport, and Yorkville Road Reconstruction Project will be submitted to Community Council on January 22, 2013.
The agenda for Community Council is now posted on the Community Council website. The item number and name for this project is TE21.58, Road Alternation - Bay Street, Between Davenport Road and Bloor Street West.
If you want to make your views known about this project being considered by the Toronto and East York Community Council you can submit comments or request to speak. More information can be found on the Community Council and Have Your Say web pages.
Background
The City of Toronto is reconstructing Bay Street (Bloor St. to Davenport Rd.), Davenport Road (McAlpine St. to 80 metres east of Mcmurrich St.) and Yorkville Avenue (Yonge St. to Bay St.). Works will also include watermain replacement on Yorkville Avenue (Yonge St. to Bay St.) and streetscape improvements throughout the area (i.e. new trees, landscaping, and lighting).
To date, the City has undertaken extensive consultation with area stakeholders, including Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam, the Bloor-Yorkville BIA, residents' associations, and various cycling and pedestrian groups. All stakeholders have identified increased pedestrian space (accessible and open) and streescape improvements as key priorities to be considered as part of this project.
When completed, this project will address much needed road repairs and improve conditions for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

Get Involved
On Monday November 5, 2012, a Public Open House was held at the Toronto Reference Library. The open house provided an overview of the project and an opportunity for people to comment on the proposed improvements.
The results of the open house comments and additional communications received have been compiled in the following report.
