Starting July 2011 the City of Toronto will be repairing the Gerrard Street East Bridge that spans over the Don Valley between River Street to the west and Blackburn Street/St. Matthews Road to the east (near Broadview Avenue). This work will be conducted along with the TTC’s track replacement program.
As with all construction projects, there will be noise and temporary inconveniences. In order to complete the work effectively and in a safe manner, some traffic and pedestrian restrictions will be necessary.
The work includes: reconstruction of the streetcar track and associated waterproofing, replacement of bridge expansion joints, repairs to the roadway, sidewalks, railings and parapet walls.
