A 1500mm diameter watermain has been proposed along Kennedy Road from approximately 100m south of Purcell Square to the site of the existing Milliken Pumping Station and Reservoir behind the Milliken Mills Community Centre near 14th Avenue (see map). The watermain is required to increase the transmission capacity of potable water from the F. J. Horgan Water Treatment Plant to both the Scarborough area and the Markham area, in order to meet current and future water demands.
