Study Overview
The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) and the City of Toronto are planning a new Light Rail Transit (LRT) route to connect Kennedy Subway Station with north-eastern Scarborough. The Scarborough Malvern LRT would begin at Kennedy Subway Station and travel east along Eglinton Avenue to Kingston Road, north-east on Kingston Road to Morningside Avenue, and north on Morningside Avenue to the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus via Ellesmere Road and Military Trail. It would proceed north on Morningside Avenue to Sheppard Avenue East and meet the Sheppard Avenue East LRT to provide connections to Torontos new light rail network.

The Scarborough Malvern LRT would provide modern, accessible, comfortable light rail transit service along three of Scarboroughs major roads, serving the adjacent residential and business communities and major institutions including the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus and Centennial College Ellesmere Campus.

Public consultations for the project were held on July 23, 24, 2008, May 20, 21, 2009 and June 29, 2009.

The Process
The Scarborough Malvern LRT is following Ontario Regulation 231/08, Transit Projects and Greater Toronto Transportation Authority Undertakings (2008). The environmental impact of this project has been assessed in accordance with the Transit Project Assessment Process. View Public Notice (June 2009) (PDF)
