Background
The Roncesvalles Village Streetscape Strategy Study, completed in June 2003 for the Roncesvalles Village Business Improvement Area (BIA), identified a number of public realm improvements on Roncesvalles Avenue. Some of these improvements require EA approval. It has been proposed that streetscape improvements be done in conjunction with TTC track repairs and local road and sidewalk resurfacing. This work is scheduled for the Spring of 2010, and therefore EA approval must be obtained in 2009.
Purpose of this Study
This Study will be carried out in accordance with the planning and design process for 'Schedule B' projects as outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environment Assessment (amended 2007) process, which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The process will define problems and opportunities, consider and evaluate alternative solutions and present the evaluation process.
Involving the Public
Open House events for this project were advertised in The Villager and Now Magazine, and Notices were mailed to local ratepayer and residential associations, as well as residents and businesses that are within close proximity to Roncesvalles Ave.
