Proposed Amendments to Municipal Code Chapter 681, Article I for Changes to Sewer Connection Fees Notice is hereby given that Toronto Water is proposing that the Council of the City of Toronto pass a by-law to amend Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 681 with the following amendments:

(1) an amendment to 681-11 C. (Sewer connections) is required to allow the City to collect a fee and require the installation of a new sewer connection for all buildings on a lot where a change with respect to the lot causes the existing sewer connection to fail to meet current City standards, including those where a new or reconstructed building is being constructed. Previously the section only dealt with resubdivisions or the change of location of buildings on a lot; and

(2) a new subsection 681-11. H. (3) (Sewer connections on public or private property) be added so that inspection fees can be recovered in cases where an owner of a property has been permitted to install the sewer connection on public property between the sewer main and private property.

At the Works Committee meeting, scheduled for September 14, 2005, commencing at 9:30 a.m., in Committee Room 1, 2nd floor, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street West, Toronto, the Works Committee of Toronto City Council will hear in person or by his or her counsel, agent or solicitor, any person who wishes to speak to these matters.

It is proposed that these fees be adopted at the Council meeting to be held on September 28, 29 and 30, 2005, or at a subsequent meeting.

To obtain, at no cost, or to view copies of the Works Committee reports or other material outlining and explaining the proposed fees, or to submit comments or make a deputation to the Works Committee meeting on September 14, 2005, please contact the following City official no later than 12:00 p.m. on September 13, 2005:
