The Medical Officer of Health is reporting on the progress of the Healthier Street Food Pilot program which shall be proposing a number of amendments to Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 738, Healthier Street Food, including to add new Toronto a la Cart vending locations and to establish location fees for 2010. These fees are proposed to be added to Chapter 738 and Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 441, Fees and Charges, as follows:

Fees for existing locations
The 2009 fees for existing Toronto a la Cart vending locations are proposed to be adjusted for 2010 as follows:

The particulars of the proposal are set out in the report to the Board of Health from the Medical Officer of Health entitled "Street Food Pilot Project Update".

While the report sets out the recommended fees, the Board of Health or Council may change these recommendations and Council may adopt fees that differ from the recommendations, including fees that are higher or lower than the fees set out in the report. If you wish to be advised of any changes recommended by the Board, please refer to the decision documents posted on the City's website for the Board of Health meeting referenced below, or you can request copies of the decision documents from the City Clerk's office.

It is proposed that the By-law be amended at the Council meeting to be held on November 30, 2009, or at a subsequent meeting.

At its meeting to be held in Committee Room 2, 2nd floor, Toronto City Hall on November 16, 2009, at 1 p.m. or as soon as possible thereafter, the Board of Health will hear in person or by his or her counsel, agent or solicitor, any person who wishes to speak to the matter.
