Proposal
The application proposes to demolish three apartment buildings, containing a total of 36 rental units, at 2, 6, and 12 Fernwood Gardens. The owner is not proposing to replace the 36 residential rental housing units in a redevelopment proposed for these and adjoining lands, therefore existing tenants will not have the right to
return to replacement rental housing. The owner will be providing assistance with the relocation to the tenants.

A Rental Housing Demolition and Conversion application 08 232255 STE 00 RH under Section 111 of the City of Toronto Act (Chapter 667 of the Municipal Code) has been made to permit the demolition. Under the City of Toronto Act, the demolition of a rental property with six or more dwelling units is prohibited without a permit obtained from the City. Related applications to amend the Official Plan and Zoning By-law (Application No. 08 232246 STE 29 OZ) under the Planning Act have also been made and will be considered at the same time. The applicant proposes to develop a 4-storey, 65-unit, private residential-care and assisted living facility.

You are invited to attend the public meeting to make your views known regarding the proposal. To assist in scheduling, if you wish to address the Toronto and East York Community Council, please notify the City Clerk, attention: Rosalind Dyers, Administrator, Toronto And East York Community Council, at 416-392-7033, by no later than November 9, 2009.

Toronto and East York Community Council will review the proposal and any other material placed before it, in order to make recommendations on the application. These recommendations will then be forwarded to Toronto City Council for its consideration.
