In the matter of the Ontario Heritage Act
R.S.O. 1990 Chapter 0.18
City of Toronto, Province of Ontario

Repeal of designating by-law No. 1997-0219

102 Shuter Street (Walnut Hall)
Take notice that Toronto City Council intends to repeal City of Toronto By-law No. 1997-0219 designating the property at 102 Shuter Street (Walnut Hall) under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act, to remove the heritage designation from the property.

Reasons for Repeal of the Designating By-law
In 1997 City Council enacted By-law No. 1997-0219 designating the property at 102 Shuter Street under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act. The site is the former location of Walnut Hall, a mid-19th century residential building that partially collapsed and was demolished by order of the Chief Building Official in 2007. The property stands vacant, and the repeal of the by-law will remove the heritage designation from the title of the site.

Further information regarding the proposed repeal of By-law No. 1997-0219 is available for viewing from the City Clerk's Department.

Notice of an objection to the proposed repeal of designating By-law No. 1997-0219 may be served on the City Clerk, Attention: Rosalind Dyers, Administrator, Toronto and East York Community Council, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street West, 2nd floor, West, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 2N2, within thirty days of January 30, 2012, which is February 29, 2012. The notice must set out the reason(s) for the objection, and all relevant facts.

Dated at Toronto this 30th day of January, 2012.

Ulli S. Watkiss
City Clerk
