Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFLs)

Replace your incandescent light bulbs with energy efficient CFLs and see the difference on your electricity bill. CFLs use 75% less electricity and come in all shapes, sizes and functions.  You can get CFLs that can be uses in potlights, floodlights, dimmers and even ones that allow you to clip on a lamp shape.

Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs)

Holiday lighting can be energy efficient too. Replace your old strand of incandescent lights with a new set of LED lights. LEDs come in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes and use up to 95% less electricity.

More tips to reduce energy when it comes to lighting:

  • Replace frequently-used outside lights with motion detecting lights.
  • Install timers for frequently-used outdoor lights.
  • Replace old halogen floor lamps with compact fluorescent versions.
