Adult Day Program - Helping individuals live independently in the community
Toronto Long-Term Care Homes and Services is proud to offer Adult Day Programs in three homes across the city (Kipling Acres, Cummer Lodge and Bendale Acres). These programs provide a wonderful opportunity for seniors living in the community to have "a day out", participate in a social programming and connect with peers.
The programs offers a variety of quality activities and services, in a safe and supportive environment, to individuals living in the community who are physically frail, have a cognitive impairment, or are socially isolated. Program goals include preserving clients' level of mental and physical functioning, providing respite and support to caregivers, and helping individuals remain at home in their own community.
Each day the participants have the opportunity to take part in a variety of social, recreational, and physical activities, including special events and wellness education. Participants receive nutritious meals and snacks and assistance with activities of daily living. Service provision is respectful of culture, ethnicity, family traditions, community, language, sexual orientation and spiritual beliefs of the members.
