Emergency checklist for residents:

  • Develop an emergency plan and ensure family members know what to do before, during and after an emergency.
  • Keep emergency numbers handy, including utility providers, daycare, long-term care facilities, school, work and insurance company.
  • Develop a home escape plan and practise it annually with family members.
  • Prepare a family emergency kit that contains first aid and other basic supplies, food and water, a change of clothing, and copies of important documents.
