Black and white picture of early hospital care

Public Health @ 125 years

Have you ever wondered why you have to vaccinate your children if they go to school? Or why our milk must be pasteurized? Or why housing is seen as a measure of health? The answers to those questions can be found at an exhibit at the City of Toronto Archives, located on Spadina Road, just north of Dupont.

This exhibit presents a selection of archival photographs and documents from 1883 to the present, exploring themes such as health services for children, the struggle for clean water and air, and the development of public housing and social services.

The exhibit continues until the end of April. Group bookings can be made in advance. School groups are invited to take advantage of a learning program designed for grade 8 students. Other grade levels are welcome.
