Adventure Camps

Academic

A balance between recreational activities and casual learning. Explore learning in a fun and interactive way!

Arts

A great introduction for any young artist. Campers will explore a variety of art mediums while participating in recreational activities.

Ball Hockey

Campers will take part in the fundamentals of ball hockey. This non-instructional program has a focus on fair-play, sportsmanship and fun!

Baseball

Campers will take part in the fundamentals of baseball. This non-instructional program has a focus on fair-play, sportsmanship and fun!

Basketball

Campers will take part in the fundamentals of basketball. This non-instructional program has a focus on fair-play, sportsmanship and fun!

Boys

This camp has all of the ingredients of an Activity Camp and more. Campers are introduced to a variety of enhanced activities through workshops, special events and excursions. This camp is for boys only.

Cooking

Campers will have the opportunity to explore the basics of cooking in addition to great summer recreation activities.

Cricket

Campers will take part in the fundamentals of cricket. This non-instructional program has a focus on fair-play, sportsmanship and fun!

Dance

Campers will take participate in a number of different dance styles while still participating in great recreational activities.

Drama

This is the perfect way for young would-be actors to express themselves while taking part in all the fun a summer camp has to offer.

Eco

Campers will experience various hands-on eco-activities and workshops while taking part in all the fun a summer camp has to offer.

Fitness

Campers will learn about gaining fitness skills through fun and active recreational programs with a focus on developing confidence and self-esteem. The perfect camp for participants of all fitness levels.

Girls

This camp has all of the ingredients of an Activity Camp and more. Campers are introduced to a variety of enhanced activities through workshops, special events and excursions. This camp is for girls only. A consumable fee may be charged at some camp locations.

Gymnastics

This camp is the perfect introduction to the basic principles of gymnastics - roll, tumble and flip into summer fun!

Heritage Discovery

Campers will be introduced to the people and places of different cultures represented in their community and around the world. Campers will learn cultural traditions and customs through fun group activities and structured crafts. This camp aims to help campers develop an understanding and appreciation of different cultures in a fun and accepting environment.

Nature

Explore the world around you in a fun and exciting way. In addition to recreational activities, participants will take part in a variety of nature-based activities.

Science

Explore the wonders of science in a fun and informal way while taking part in a variety of recreational activities.

Soccer

Sports

Sports - Boys

Volleyball

Campers will take part in the fundamentals of volleyball. This non-instructional program has a focus on fair-play, sportsmanship and fun!

Youth

These camps have all of the ingredients of an activity camp and more. Campers are introduced to leadership activities through workshops, special events and excursions.

Counsellor-in-Training

A program for youth between the ages of 13-17yrs who have an interest in becoming a City of Toronto camp counsellor.

Specialty Arts Camps

Acro Dance

Campers will learn a combination of dance and gymnastic moves choreographed to their favourite music.

Animation

Camp highlights include production of a 3D sculpture and camera-less animation techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to present their work at the end of the session.

Arts

Explore a variety of art mediums and artistic expressions through formal instruction such as dance, painting, sketching and drawing.

Arts and Crafts

Campers will have the opportunity to complete a variety of craft projects that they will be able to take home at the end of the week.

Arts and Nature

This camp combines the study of ecology and art. Campers will have an opportunity to explore their environment, learn about preservation, and identify wildlife and plant specimens. Campers will use their environment as a backdrop for art projects of different media including drawing, painting, relief art and sculpture. Camp will also enjoy traditional camp activities like crafts, games and water play.

Arts and Technology

Campers will enjoy enriching arts and technology activities and create exciting projects to share with their families. Activities may include: mural painting, print-making, science experiments and stop-motion animation.

Bollywood Dance

Campers will learn the latest Bollywood dance moves and choreography.

Dance

Explore a variety of dance including: ballet, jazz, hip hop and contemporary. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be spent on formal instruction in addition to recreational activities.

Dance Carnival

Campers will be introduced to Caribbean and South American cultures through cooking, dance, music and elaborate costumes. In addition to traditional camp activities, campers will also participate in a Carnival Day performance at the end of the week.

Dance and Drama

In addition to formal instruction in dance, campers will also take part in the mysteries of the theatre through drama coaching, set designs and dramatic performances.

Drama - Behind the Scenes

Campers are given opportunities to experience a variety of "behind the scenes" activities including: photography, video and the written word. Campers will also enjoy active games and activities. A showcase is held on Friday afternoons for campers to show off their achievements.

Drawing and Sketching

Campers will learn the fundamentals of sketching and drawing. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as perspective and shading using values and tones.

Hip Hop

Campers will learn the latest hip hop dance moves and choreography.

Music

Music camp is the perfect opportunity for young musicians to enhance their skills. Campers will have formal instruction while having the opportunity to play their instruments throughout the day as well as regular camp activities.

Musical Theatre

Through a mixture of dance, drama and music campers will perform on stage! Special guests may visit the camp and share their experience in the arts. Each session concludes with a performance by camp participants.

Pottery

Have fun working with clay and other materials while creating 3-D objects. Young artists will be introduced to both traditional and modern styles of sculpture that will inspire them to create their own masterpieces.

Visual Arts

Explore a wide variety of art mediums as campers learn the secrets of painting, sketching, drawing and much more.

Specialty Interests Camps

Babysitters

This program is a Red Cross certification course in babysitting. Youth will also participate in other camp activities.

Canoe

The ultimate experience for campers wanting to develop their paddling skills. Campers participate in a week-long program that includes paddling trips along the Humber River, hiking in High Park, nature lessons and traditional camp activities.

Computer

Explore the arts and science of computers! Campers will receive computer instruction in a recreational setting.

Cooking

Participants will learn the art of cooking as well as the basics of nutrition and healthy eating, cooking techniques and kitchen safety.

Creative Writing

This camp is for participants who have a story to tell! A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on thought organization, plot and character development.

Digital Animation

Campers will make their own characters and scenes out of clay. Using video cameras, computers and stop motion technology campers will bring their own stop motion film to life. Campers will also participate in traditional camp activities.

Digital Comic Book Design

Campers will work with one another to create an idea, take digital photos, edit and "comicfy" themselves to create a one-of-a-kind comic book. Campers will also participate in traditional camp activities.

Digital Film Production

Campers will get a chance to be the director! Using computers and video cameras, campers will write, produce, film, act in and edit their own digital films. Campers will also participate in traditional camp activities.

Eco

If your child enjoys nature and being outdoors, this is the camp for you! Your child will participate in a number of nature-based activities including: outdoor excursion and nature crafts plus lots of fun and games.

French

Enjoy the summer camp experience in a French immersion setting. Campers will participate in various activities while improving their French skills.

Health and Wellness

Relax and enjoy a week of yoga, Pilates and spa treatments from your friends. In addition to traditional camp activities campers will also learn about healthy eating and wellness.

Kindergarten Preparation

Help your child avoid first day jitters through a structured program that introduces the basics of Jr. Kindergarten. Certified teachers will introduce the wonderful world of kindergarten in a fun and practical way. Daily school routines, classroom “etiquette” and basic curriculum will be the focus during this camp.

Magic

Build self-confidence as campers develop performance skills and a variety of magic tricks that will amaze family and friends. Through formal instruction, campers will learn card manipulation, rope tricks, balloon sculpture and much more. Traditional camp activities will also be incorporated.

Nature

Designed for campers who love to explore and connect with the outdoor environment. Activities include hiking, crafts and playing nature games.

Outdoor Explorers

Learn the fundamentals of orienteering and nature skills. Participants will have and opportunity to put their nature skills to the test while participating in recreation activities.

Outtripping

Campers spend the first week of this program at Sunnyside Pavilion developing canoe, wilderness and leadership skills. The second week includes a three-night canoe trip in Ontario where campers will paddle on open water and set up camp for an outdoor experience to remember.

Science

Discover the world of science through fun and exciting games, activities and experiments. Activities are designed to help children investigate the properties of science.

Web Design

Participants will use various software to develop their own web page.   Campers will also participate in traditional camp activities.

Specialty Sports Camps

Ball Hockey

Campers will develop the fundamentals of ball hockey. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as shooting, passing and scrimmages.

Campers will develop the fundamentals of ball hockey. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as shooting, passing and scrimmages. This camp is for boys only.

Campers will develop the fundamentals of baseball. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as throwing, hitting and fielding.

Basketball

Campers will develop the fundamentals of basketball. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as dribbling, lay-ups and ball handling techniques.

Basketball - Boys

Campers will develop the fundamentals of ball hockey. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as dribbling, lay-ups and ball handling techniques. This camp is for boys only.

Bike

This is your chance to learn and practice mountain biking in a safe and fun environment. After spending a day checking equipment and learning manoeuvres, participants will spend the remaining four days biking through local trails.

CAN-BIKE

CAN-BIKE 1 curriculum will be combined with games, sports and swimming. Campers will learn traffic theory and safe riding skills. Campers must be able to ride a bike and must bring their own bike, bike helmet and bike lock.

CAN-BIKE - Mountain Bike

Campers will learn and practice mountain biking in a safe and fun environment. CAN-BIKE 1 curriculum will be combined with games and rides through local trails, learning mountain biking skills and techniques. Campers must be able to ride a bike and must bring their own mountain bike, bike helmet and bike lock.

Cheerleading

Learn basic routines, dances and acrobatic moves. Participants will demonstrate their new skills at our end of the session show.

Cricket

Campers will develop the fundamentals of cricket. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as batting and fielding.

Flag Football

Campers will develop the fundamentals of flag football. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as passing, receiving and offensive and defensive plays will take place in formal instruction and scrimmages.

Golf

Campers will develop the fundamentals of golf. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as form and swing, putting and proper golf etiquette. Due to the nature of the camp, additional greens fees may apply.

Gymnastics

Campers will work on floor skills such as front roll progressions, handstands and cartwheels. Floor work also includes leaps, jumps and turns and connecting locomotion skills.

Hockey

Designed for kids who have always wanted to learn to play the game of hockey but have not yet had the opportunity. By combining ball hockey, learn to skate and basic hockey instruction, participants with no hockey experience will be introduced to the game. All equipment will be supplied during the camp. Participants are encouraged to bring their own skates if they have them.

In-Line Skating

Campers will learn the basics of safe in-line skating. Participants must supply their own in-line skates and safety equipment.

Lacrosse

Campers will develop the fundamentals of lacrosse. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as stick handling, passing and fielding.

Martial Arts

Campers will receive formal instruction in martial arts in addition to traditional camp activities

Skateboarding

Campers will learn the basics of safe skateboarding. Participants must supply their own skateboard and safety equipment.

Swim

Campers will take part in Ultra Swim: Small Group lessons for 30 minutes a day at a City of Toronto pool. Lessons will be combined with recreational activities.

Tennis

Campers will develop the fundamentals of tennis. A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as a forehand, back hand and serving.

Track and Field

Campers will develop the fundamentals of a variety of track and field sports A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as a throwing, running and jumping.

Volleyball

Campers will develop the fundamentals of volleyball A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as a bumping, setting and serving.

Volleyball - Girls

Campers will develop the fundamentals of volleyball A minimum of 2 hours a day will be focused on developing skills such as a bumping, setting and serving. This camp is for girls only.

Water Polo

Campers will be introduced to water polo skills and drills.  Campers will also participate in traditional camp activities. Campers must be able to swim one length of the pool.
