Filing The Notice of Intention to Appear
Present the completed document along with the Parking Infraction Notice or Notice of Impending Conviction to the counter service staff, who will review and clarify the contents of the notice with you, stamp the document as filed, update the computer files and provide you with a copy of the document.
Agent
Any person, who is not the registered owner of the vehicle plate, is considered to be an agent, regardless of the fact such person may actually have been the operator of the vehicle. If you are acting as an agent for the defendant, and intend to represent him/her at the trial, the counter clerk will record your name and relevant information on the computer file. Your name will appear on the top of the Notice of Trial issued to the defendant.
A Notice of Trial is issued to the defendant as required by law, and not the agent. Please remind the registered owner of the vehicle plate who has authorized you to request a trial on his/her behalf.
lf to provide you with a copy of the notice when it is delivered. (This reminder appears on the Notice of Trial.)
Seventy-five (75) days after the infraction date, you may use our 24-hour interactive voice system 416-397-8247 to inquire if a trial date has been scheduled. If you select option #1 (one) and enter the tag number, the system will confirm that a request for trial has been received and will provide you with the scheduled court date, time, room and location of the hearing, or will advise you that a date has not yet been set.
