Steve MacKinnon
Steve MacKinnon graduated from Ryerson University’s Photographic Arts program in 1981. He has been an archivist at the City of Toronto Archives since 1992, where he has worked extensively with the City’s photographic records. He has had solo exhibitions of his photography and is co-author of the book, Toronto’s Visual legacy: OfficialCity Photography from 1856 to the Present.
Kate Schneider
Kate Schneider is an artist and educator working in documentary photography and film. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she received her BA in Political Science and BS in Photojournalism from Ohio University and her MFA in Documentary Media from Ryerson University. Her photographs have been published internationally and her work has been recognized by several organizations, such as the Associated Press and Photo District News. Her work has exhibited in New York, Toronto, Cleveland, and Columbus, Ohio. In 2008 she completed a book on Demolition Derby culture and is now finishing work on her first film entitled The Valley of Dry Bones. Kate currently teaches photography at Guelph-Humber University in Toronto, Ontario.
Jocelyn Richards
Jocelyn Richards attended Humber College for Photography and hortly after graduation in 1980 she was hired by the City of Toronto0 .In 1986 she was hired as the Photographer's Assistant. She took over as the Official City Photographer in the late 80s and still occupies that position.
In addition to her position with the City, Jocelyn’s photographic interests include documenting the many trips she has taken over the years. Her excursions to Greece, Arizona, Africa, Mexico and Turkey have provided her with many images which she has shown in numerous exhibitions.
Jocelyn has exhibited her work in an art show that sends young women to school in Africa. So far that organization has provided funds to send 28 girls to school, with artists donating 30% of their sales to the cause.
