Poll results are part of processes that are specific for each subject. If a poll passes, it doesn't necessarily mean there will be a change as a result. You can find out more information from the relevant division.
Everyone who returns a ballot will be sent the results of the poll. You can also find poll results online.
Most polls that do not pass cannot be run again for two years. In the case of front yard parking, polls cannot be run again for three years. Applicants can help ensure a good response rate.

Council shall not pass a by-law to establish a new business improvement area if:
(1) The number of accepted ballots returned fails to exceed the lesser of a minimum of 30 percent of the number of notices mailed under Subsection A, or 100 ballots; or (2) 50 percent or more of the accepted ballots respond in the negative. |
