"Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario Day"
September 22, 2002
| WHEREAS: |
the Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario serves people with spinal cord injuries and mobility impairments in facing the challenges of adapting to newly acquired injuries; and |
| WHEREAS: |
the Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontatio provides peer support, rehabilitation counselling, employment services, community advocacy, information and attendant services to people living with physical disabilities; and |
| WHEREAS: |
the Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario assists persons with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation; and |
| WHEREAS: |
the Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario hosts the 7th annual Wheelchair Relay Challenge on Sunday, September 22, 2002, to raise awareness and funds to support their work with individuals who have acquired mobility impairments. |

| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor Mel Lastman, on behalf of Toronto City Council and the 2.5 million people of our great City, do hereby proclaim September 22, 2002 as "Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario Day" and encourage everyone to support this very worthy cause. |
