"Dental Health Day"
April 5, 2002
| WHEREAS: |
in order to promote dental health, the Toronto Academy of Dentistry and the Rotary Club of Toronto - Don Mills are organizing Brush-a-Mania for approximately 50,000 students from 150 schools; and |
| WHEREAS: |
all participants will receive instruction in proper oral hygiene, and a kit containing a tooth brush, tooth paste, floss and sugar free gum, and will be required to brush their teeth for three minutes 100 times over the next two months; and |
| WHEREAS: |
the Toronto Academy of Dentistry and the Rotary Club of Toronto - Don Mills have donated thousands of dollars to various charities in our community and all proceeds raised at event will be donated to a charity that provides free reconstructive surgery to children suffering from a cleft lip and/or palate. |

| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor Mel Lastman, on behalf of Toronto City Council and the 2.5 million people of our great City, do hereby proclaim April 5, 2002 as "Dental Health Day" and encourage everyone to practice optimal dental hygiene and support that Toronto Dental Societies during their annual event. |
