"Emergency Nurses Week"
October 6 to 12, 2002
and

"Emergency Nurses Day"
October 9, 2002

WHEREAS: Emergency nurses are committed to providing quality emergency care; and
WHEREAS: Emergency nurses have demonstrated their professionalism and continually strive to upgrade standards of practice and improve services; and
WHEREAS: Emergency nurses endeavour to educate the public in the prevention and treatment of injury and illness and the proper and effective use of emergency services.
NOW,
THEREFORE: I, Mayor Mel Lastman, on behalf of Toronto City Council and the 2.5 million people of our great City, do hereby proclaim October 6 to 12, 2002 as "Emergency Nurses Week" and October 9, 2002 as "Emergency Nurses Day", in recognition of the contribution nurses make in caring and protecting friends, family and loved ones.
