"Look Good Feel Better Day"
April 24, 2002
| WHEREAS: |
over the past ten years the Look Good Feel Better program has been assisting more than 350,000 Canadian women living with cancer, and more than 1,500 volunteer cosmeticians, health care professionals and concerned individuals participate to make the program successful; and |
| WHEREAS: |
the Look Good Feel Better program provides women with cancer education through two-hour workshops at 65 hospitals and cancer care facilities, and seminars in regions outside of major centres, free program materials including an annual magazine; and |
| WHEREAS: |
the member companies of the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association bring the Look Good Feel Better message to Canadian women, including representatives of provincial and municipal government, the public health community, private voluntary groups and the academic community; and |
| WHEREAS: |
this partnership will be taking part in a national effort to focus public attention on the importance of Look Good Feel Better in helping women approach their disease and treatment with greater confidence. |

| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor Mel Lastman, on behalf of Toronto City Council and the 2.5 million people of our great City, do hereby proclaim April 24, 2002 as "Look Good Feel Better Day" in the City of Toronto. |
