Crime Prevention Association of Toronto (CPAT)

Crime Prevention Association of Toronto (CPAT) is a community-based crime prevention agency that organizes and empowers neighbourhoods, businesses, and individuals to take action to reduce crime. To fulfill its anti-crime mission and to prevent administrative overlap, Crime Concern has brought together a network of crime prevention practitioners, including members of the Toronto Police Service, to reduce crime through education and the sharing of resources and expertise.

The City of Edmonton and the Safer Cities Initiatives Office developed and implemented a safety audit initiative. The Safer Cities Initiatives Office also drafted a Safety Audit Guide
For Crime Prevention "Building Partnerships For Safer Environment" guide book in January 2000 that offers an extensive safety audit checklist.

City of Calgary

City of Calgary

The City of Calgary offers a website and handbook designed to guide you through the safety audit process. It provides tips on who to involve, how to get organized, things to think about when evaluating the issues, and how to implement and follow-up on changes.

In addition to this handbook there is a supporting video entitled The Safeside, which may be borrowed or purchased by contacting the Safety Audit Task Force at 403-268-5128, or by visiting the Action Committee Against Violence website section.

The Scarborough Safety Audit Committee
The former City of Scarborough created the Scarborough Safety Audit Committee. This group was initiated to create, develop and lead safety audits throughout the Scarborough area. This group is still active today and works to promote community safety through the use of safety audit and crime prevention initiatives. The group also developed a safety audit checklist that can support your safety audit plans.
