Employment Opportunities System (EOS) Privacy Policy


The Employment Opportunities System (EOS) is committed to providing you with a safe, secure environment from which you can confidentially register, apply for jobs and use other career and employment services. This Privacy Policy outlines how EOS treats personal information that it collects and receives. Personal information refers to information about you that is personally identifiable and that is not otherwise publicly available, like your name, address, email address or phone number. This Privacy Policy sets forth the online data collection, usage policies and practices that apply to the EOS site. Each time you visit the Site or provide us with information, you are, by doing so, accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. You agree that by using EOS you are expressly and affirmatively consenting to Toronto Employment and Social Services' use and disclosure of the information that you provide, and consenting to receive e-mails, as described below in this Privacy Policy.

Collection and Use of Personal Information by Employment Opportunites System
You can search and view employment opportunities in EOS without revealing any information about yourself. If you register, the following information is required from you: name, contact information, email address, and other career related data. If you are a registered user, you may also post one or more resumes to the site. The extent of the information that is collected when you post a resume depends on what you choose to place in your resume. At a minimum, if you post a resume, EOS will require that you provide your full name, address, postal code, phone number and email address. Your resume may contain additional information such as your experience, education, skills or any other information about yourself that you decide to provide.

At times, we may ask you to provide us with general information about you to assist us in meeting your various needs or to better understand your requirements, profiles, and experience.

Use of Information
We use the information provided by you to:

  1. provide your resume and/or cover letter to employers / agencies when you apply to one of their job postings
  2. contact you directly by telephone or email to provide you with information related to employment and/or volunteer opportunities
  3. create/maintain a databank of searchable resumes for specific employment opportunities, used only by licensed staff of Toronto Employment and Social Services
  4. provide employment services and opportunities to job seekers based on education, skills, employment background, and other demographics

You can access, update or edit your account at any time by logging in with your login/password. This includes changes to your registration information, resume(s), preferences, Job Search Agents and newsletters.

If at any time you would like your information and resume(s) removed from our site, you may do so by using the “delete account” function, located in the "Edit Username and Password" section. However, employers for whose job posting you have applied, may already have obtained and retained a copy of your resume.

If you have forgotten your password, you can use the "Forgot Password" functionality on the Site. If you require assistance, you can contact our support team by using the "Help" link on the Site.
