Approved Ontario Works activities include:

• structured job search programs such as Employment Placement or job finding programs offered by Service Canada and community agencies
• skills training programs including courses offered through Employment and Social Services
• Pre-Employment Development programs
• Volunteering
• the Self-Employment Development Program, and
• educational programs such as General Educational Development (GED) and Literacy and Basic Skills Programs*

*Please note: Employment and Social Services can only help with specific costs for other language training or educational programs. Examples are English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, high school classes and adult upgrading programs. These programs normally do not qualify for transportation costs.
