November/December 2006

The upcoming 40th annual Cavalcade of Lights sets Toronto aglow with a month-long calendar of spellbinding events, sparkling lighting displays and one-of-a-kind tour of Toronto's picturesque neighborhoods. The winner of two 2003 International Special Events Society Esprit Awards and two International Festivals and Events Association Pinnacle Awards, Cavalcade of Lights is one of the nation's foremost festivals of light.

Building on decades of holiday tradition in Toronto, audiences are invited to experience the Cavalcade of Lights First Lighting Celebration in the heart of the city at Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday, November 25, 2006. This event marks the premiere illumination of the Cavalcade of Lights display, which includes the radiance of 100,000 lights and the city's official Christmas Tree. Live music fills revellers with the spirit of the season and a vivid fireworks display illuminates Toronto City Hall.

The entire city is marking the season with celebrations and lighting displays throughout the Cavalcade of Lights event calendar. Watch for more details on citywide events and exciting new illuminated exhibits.
