Metal sculpture forest created by Tempermettle

Hand-forged metal tree and animal sculptures by Gillian Farnsworth and Rowena O'Connor are on display in the Eglinton bus terminal rotunda.

Hand-forged metal tree sculpture by Gillian Farnsworth and Rowena O'Connor

Tempermettle is the imagination of artist, Gillian Farnsworth, and metal tailor, Rowena O'Connor. This creative team showcases interactive, sculptural installations. TM's trademark exhibition, "Engineered", is a synthetic forest populated by tree-like forms and armour-clad critters displayed in a natural landscape of grass and bark mulch hills. Gillian and Rowena have been working together for over a decade. Their installations have been featured across Canada and New York City and in film.

Julie Voyce has studied art at the Ottawa Municipal Art Centre, the Banff Centre School of Fine Arts and at OCAD. Voyce draws upon mass media and advertising to create her fantastical, whimsical images, sometimes with a darker side to them. She has exhibited extensively across Canada, Europe and Japan.

She is the recipient of First Prize for the Great Canadian Printmaking Competition in 2003, and was voted Toronto Artist of the Year for the Steamwhistle Art Awards in 2004.
