- The winning design in the St. Lawrence Market North Building Design Competition will be announced on June 7, 2010.
This concept includes a transparent south façade and a central light well that will provide daylight into public spaces, while the roof and upper walls of the building are designed to be similar in scale to the vaulted roof of the South Market.
The design’s most prominent feature is its dramatic shed roof. The form of the building is specifically sculpted to enable and highlight historical vistas and views. The use of copper wall and roof cladding will allow the building’s look to evolve and mature over time.
