Impact Investing - Loans and direct investments

Current loans list

TAF's investment activity is driven by a double bottom line: It seeks to invest in solutions that can deliver emission reductions while generating a healthy revenue stream that is used to grow the endowment and further increase impact.

TAF makes market-rate loans to commercial enterprises, institutions and non profit organizations, focusing on areas where a new financial structure or approach can drive greater uptake for high potential emission reduction strategies or where our expertise in areas like green energy and energy efficiency can add value. On the commercial side, we generally lend to companies with a proven track record that are looking to move into new business areas or market a new product or service. Read our Loan FAQ page to learn more about what TAF is looking for and subscribe to our e-newsletter, The Atmospheric, for news about TAF's Impact Investing activity.

Co-financing opportunities

TAF is also interested in working with others to further develop and deploy mechanisms like the Green Condo Loan, Energy Savings Pre-Purchase Agreements or Solar Utility Loan models developed by TAF. Contact Tim Stoate if you are interested in discussing co-finance opportunities.

The first step for securing TAF financing is to read our Loan FAQ page and discuss your project with Tim Stoate, Vice President of Impact Investing. We are happy to discuss potential loans or equity investments at any time, but transactions must be reviewed at quarterly Finance Committee meetings. All transactions are also subject to full due diligence and board approval.
