  Bicycle Stickers Mandatory in Taxicabs

Watch for Bikes
On June 20, 2002, the Council of the City of Toronto enacted By-law No. 513-2002 which amended Section 36(1) of Schedule 8 of By-law 574-2000 by adding subsection (h). The amending by-law requires all taxicabs to affix three "Watch for bikes" stickers in the following locations on the vehicle:
  • the driver's side mirror;
  • the right rear side window;
  • the left rear side window.
This safety initiative was launched November 27, 2002. Stickers are now available at the City's Vehicle Inspection Facility, located at 843 Eastern Avenue. All Toronto taxicab vehicles will be required to have the stickers in place by the beginning of the second annual inspection of 2003.
