Course Content
The current program includes three weeks of instruction on topics ranging from professional customer service, dealing with difficult customers and situations to local geography, safety procedures and business management. Program delivery is based on adult learning principles and includes lectures, class discussion, group work, role plays, and individual exercises. Regular attendance is mandatory and performance feedback frequent. Participants take two quizzes a week and must excel in a demanding three-hour examination at the end of the program.

Passing Requirements
In order to successfully complete the course students must:

• meet minimum attendance requirements;
• achieve a minimum of 70% on course quizzes;
• achieve a minimum of 70% on each of the five parts of the final examination;
• achieve an overall course grade of 80%;
• demonstrate an attitude and demeanour suitable for dealing with the public;
• complete approved First Aid / CPR Course.

Obtaining Your Licence
Upon successful completion of the course, you may pick up your licence at the offices of Licensing Services. At that time you will be asked to present the following documentation:

• medical certificate (provided by Municipal Licensing and Standards) and filled out by a physician of your choice;
• Ontario Driver's Abstract (no more than 30 days old);
• First Aid / CPR Certificate.

Registration
To register for this program you must attend the Municipal Licensing & Standards office in person. The course fee of $590.95 is payable at that time. The current waiting period for the course is approximately 4 weeks.
