    Canada Blooms, Metro Toronto Convention Centre - TEO exhibited at the annual Canada Blooms with a special presentation by TEO Director, Lawson Oates, on the Live Green Toronto program on Civic Sunday (March 16).
  • Earth Hour

    TEO participated in the Earth Hour lights-out campaign.  Celebrations included a concert on Nathan Philips Square with Nelly Furtado and others.

  • Sustainable Operations Summit Canada
    On October 29, TEO's Mark Bekkering spoke at the Sustainable Operations Summit Canada. This event brought together key leadership from Canada's most influential organizations to promote practices that benefit both the environment and the bottom line.
  • World Record Walk - Wednesday October 3, 2007

  • Jiangsu Environmental Protection Training Delegation
    On September 20, TEO presented the City's Climate Change, Clean Air & Sustainable Energy Action Plan (PDF) to a delegation from China's Jiangsu Province's Environmental Protection Bureau.
  • Alliance for Resilient Cities (ARC) event
    TEO exhibited at this groundbreaking event held on September 20, 2007 at the MaRS Centre in Toronto. The objectives of the event were to raise awareness of the need for cities to adapt to climate change, encourage the incorporation of climate impacts into municipal program planning and implementation, share a framework for developing effective adaptation strategies, and launch an ongoing network that supports action at the local level.

  • Bridlewood Mall Environmental Fair
    TEO exhibited and presented at this event organized by the Centre for Information and Community Services www.cicscanada.com. Residents learned about energy efficiency, green roofs and incentives for those replacing appliances with more environmentally friendly alternatives.

  • Green Toronto Streetfest
    The Green Toronto Streetfest in support of Friends of Live Earth event held on Saturday, July 7 at Yonge-Dundas Square. Toronto was one of over 10,000 worldwide Friends of Live Earth events that built on the excitement of the eight Live Earth concerts worldwide.

  • Canada Blooms 2007
    Canada Blooms 2007 - electric sunflowerToronto's 'City within a Park' feature garden designed and installed by Parks, Forestry and Recreation staff with support from the Toronto Environment office, received three awards including the Environmental Award for incorporating green practices into the garden display.

  • 2007 Canadian National Exhibition
    TEO staff participated in the annual "Green Day" at the CNE. The TEO shared a booth with City of Toronto Fleet Services whose plug-in hybrid vehicle garnered a lot of attention from the crowds.
