It's easy to view video on-line

First, determine how you connect to the Internet:

  • If you connect to the Internet using a modem, your connection speed (or bandwidth) is relatively low. Select the low-bandwidth version of the video for viewing. The presentation will run smaller, but smoother.

  • If you connect to the Internet using cable or other high-speed services, your connection speed (or bandwidth) is relatively high. Select the high-bandwidth version. The presentation will run larger and more clearly.

You'll need to have a media player to view the movies

All streaming video on the City of Toronto web site is available in these formats:

  • If you already have one of these players, selecting one of the video versions will play the video automatically.

  • If you don't have a player, selecting one of the links above will present you with an option to download a player.

  • If you are located behind a restrictive firewall it may not be possible to view the video by the rstp or mms streaming protocols. If that is the case Windows Media and Real Player will automatically stream via HTTP. This option does not exist for QuickTime.

  • Quick Time, Windows Media and RealOne Players are free, safe and easy to download.
