"Putting Pedestrians First"
Toronto, Canada
October 1 – 4, 2007
The City of Toronto and Green Communities Canada were proud to co host the 8th annual Walk21 conference, Walk21 Toronto 2007. The conference was a great success, from many scheduled events and workshops to an international spirit and exchange of ideas. The Conference Program (PDF) contains details on all elements of the conference.
400 delegates from 19 countries took part in Walk21 Toronto 2007, including leaders from government, academia, the private sector, non-profit, community, and advocacy groups. The conference slogan - Putting Pedestrians First reflected a desire to make this conference one that would motivate people to build on examples of best practice from their home communities and around the globe, and turn plans into action.
Presentation papers from the conference's breakout sessions are available on the international Walk21 website. See these papers and get more information on other Walk21 conferences and events.
