October 2007

Walk21 Toronto 2007 was a great success, thanks to our 400 delegates from across Canada and around the world. 19 countries were represented, including the United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, France, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Iran, the Netherlands, Italy, and Portugal.
Toronto Mayor David Miller signed the International Charter for Walking, along with over 100 other attendees. Mayor Miller and City Manager Shirley Hoy also participated in the World Record Walk alongside many City of Toronto staff.
The conference's conclusion featured the handover to Barcelona, host city for Walk21 2008. Check the Walk21 website for updates on the 2008 conference.
