Public Consultation

Stakeholder consultation is an important part of the Class EA process. Extensive consultation has taken place at each phase of the Class EA process with the public, residents' associations, environmental groups, City agencies, boards and commissions such as the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), the Toronto Transit Commission, and Waterfront Toronto, as well as the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, the Department of Fisheries & Oceans, and Environment Canada.

This page provides a record of the public consultation materials that were available to the public during each phase of the Class EA study process.

Notice of Study Completion and 45-Day Review Period

The Environmental Study Report (ESR) for the Don River and Central Waterfront Class EA is being placed on the public record for a 45-day public review period from August 10, 2012 to September 24, 2012. The Notice of Study Completion has been issued to notify the public, stakeholders, and review agencies of the 45-day review period and opportunity to comment.

The Environmental Study Report is available for review starting August 10, 2012 for a 45-day review period at the following locations:

Public Information Centre #4

Public Information Centre 4 involved a series of open houses, held on June 20, 22, 23 and 27, 2011 in various locations in the Study Area. The purpose of the open houses was to provide information about the preliminary preferred design and receive public feedback. Comments were and requested by July 15, 2011. Public Information Centre #3

Public Open House

Public Information Centre 3 involved a series of open houses, held on May 4, 10 and 11, 2010 in various locations in the Study Area. The purpose of the open houses was to provide information about the preliminary Preferred Solution and to gain public feedback. Comments were invited and requested by May 21, 2010. Public Workshop

Stakeholders who were interested in a more detailed discussion of the process followed for this phase of the Project were invited to attend a workshop the evening of May 31, 2010.

Public Forum

A follow up session was held on September 27, 2010 to give stakeholders an additional opportunity to discuss their perspectives about the Project and the preliminary preferred alternative.

Public Information Centre #2

A Public Information Centre was held on Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Novotel Toronto Centre to present an overview of the study, the findings to date, alternative solutions being considered and how they will be evaluated. Comments were invited and requested by March 2, 2009. View the meeting material:
