Biosolids Master Plan: 30-day Public Review Period
The City of Toronto has prepared a Biosolids Master Plan recommending strategies for the future management of biosolids generated from the treatment of wastewater at the City's four wastewater treatment facilities. The Biosolids Master Plan is available for a 30-day public review period starting October 1 and ending October 30, 2009.

Plant Service Project underway
Highland Creek’s Plant Services Project is in the preliminary design stage. When completed, it will incorporate the operation of specified utilities and plant services into the recently installed process control system (PCS). This transition will help improve efficiency and address facility operating and business requirements.

Odour Study completed
The purpose of the odour study at the plant was twofold: investigate and quantify the odourous air emissions due to the process operations; recommend mitigation measures to reduce odour impact to acceptable levels. The study was completed in December 2005 and the recommendations are currently under consideration.

Security upgraded
Security upgrades will add site access systems, person door-card access systems, cameras and other devices to the facility’s current security system. Similar to those at the other Toronto Water facilities, they will be integrated with the City’s Corporate Security system, and are slated to be fully activated by summer 2007.
