Humber Wastewater Treatment Plant – Odour study
Zorix Consultants Inc. is assisting the City with an odour study at the Humber.
The objective is to determine where the odours come from within the plant, plus their strength and volume, then make recommendations to address their impact. Tools range from specialized odour sampling and measuring equipment to computer modeling, and also include the human nose.
The odour study is in its final stages. Final recommendations are expected in late 2007.
A similar study was conducted at the Ashbridges Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant in the city’s east end, and odour-control systems are being designed.
