Spray 'N' Save program for restaurants
Toronto Water is partnering with Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. to promote the Spray ‘N’ Save Program to restaurant owners in Toronto. Through the Spray 'N' Save Program, Enbridge Gas Distribution offers a free high velocity pre-rinse spray valve to its full service restaurant customers. The program helps restaurant owners to reduce water and gas consumption and to lower operating and sewage costs. Restaurant owners can take advantage of new water-efficient technology without sacrificing quality.
Ways to save with a low-flow pre-rinse spray valve:
- Reduce natural gas consumption and lower gas bill by about $650 per year.*
- Reduce water use and lower water and sewage bill by about $850 per year.**
- Receive a free low-flow pre-rinse spray valve that retails for approximately $150.
- Faster wash-up times.

*Operating cost savings are based on an annual natural gas consumption of 17,563 m3 for a typical restaurant customer. Annual natural gas consumption is based upon the average natural gas consumption of Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc.’s restaurant customers during 2008. Tests performed by Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. in 2004 indicated that a typical restaurant customer using a low-flow pre-rinse spray nozzle could reduce natural gas consumption by up to 2,434 m3 per year and reduce water consumption by up to 432.8 m3 per year. Examples and resulting savings are for illustration purposes only. Consumption levels and savings will vary based on appliance type, restaurant type and characteristics, energy prices. The calculations do not include GST or any rental or financing costs. Natural gas rate is based on Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc.’s Commercial Rate 6 effective January 1, 2010.
**Water cost is based on a water rate of $2.0616/m3 effective January 1, 2010 and a sewer rate which accounts for 57% of total water bill for City of Toronto customers. Program valid from January 1, 2010 to November 30, 2010. Offer subject to cancellation without notice at any time.
