Port Lands Sports Centre
The City of Toronto is examining the feasibility of developing the Port Lands Sport Centre, a multiple ice pad facility to be built in the Port Lands, in the area south of Commissioners Street and west of the Don Roadway (85 and 95 Commissioners Street).
Western Waterfront Master Plan
The City has completed the preparation of the Western Waterfront Master Plan which provides an overall vision to guide future decisions related to improvements to the public realm and infrastructure in the Western Waterfront.
Fort York Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge - Environmental Assessment
The City of Toronto, Waterfront Secretariat is initiating a Class EA study to determine the preferred option and preliminary design details for a pedestrian and cycle bridge over the rail way corridor west of Fort York. The project will commemorate the Bi- Centennial of the War of 1812 and is anticipated to be constructed in time for bicentennial celebrations in 2012. The pedestrian/cycle connection is an opportunity to improve and strengthen the public presence and access of Fort York. This can be achieved in part by re-establishing connections to existing parks, open space and trails within the Fort York area and the waters edge of Lake Ontario. A meeting was held on April 16, 2009.
Waterfront Community Improvement Plans (CIP's)
Community Improvement Plans (CIPs) enable municipalities to provide financial incentives to property owners to support the improvement and rehabilitation of their areas. The City is preparing CIPs to support economic development in the Waterfront and the South of Eastern Employment District. Public consultation is an important part of this initiative.

Port Lands Environmental Restoration Update
Waterfront Toronto and Toronto Economic Development Corporation are undertaking environmental restoration work in the area of Cherry Beach as part of an overall environmental management strategy for the Port Lands. As a result there will be temporary closure of portions of the Martin Goodman Trail and the east parking lot at Cherry Beach (PDF).
Waterfront Corporation Officially Launches International Design Competition for Lower Don Lands
Waterfront Toronto today announced the names of teams that will be competing in the design competition for the Lower Don Lands, a 40 hectare area located at the Mouth of the Don River and the entrance to the Port Lands.
East Bayfront Council Decision and Staff Reports
Now available is the Council Decision and the reports seeking to amend a bylaw for East Bayfront (the lands between Lower Jarvis Street and Small Street to the south of Lake Shore Boulevard East). The first report was presented to Toronto and East York Community Council at its meeting on September 13, 2006 and the second report responds to the motions passed by Community Council.
Steps Needed to Develop a Western Waterfront Master Plan

Construction Starts on New Waterfront Park in Mimico

Making Waves: Principles for Building Toronto's Waterfront, produced in 2001, spelled out key public priorities, opportunities and an implementation process to ensure results. With this report, Toronto begins "making waves" to build its new waterfront.
