Shape the Future of Toronto's Waterfront

Share your experience with a great city

Toronto, March 24, 2006 - The City of Toronto is looking for qualified people to serve on the Board of Directors of the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation (TWRC). As one of three citizen members Toronto appoints to the thirteen-member Board, you will apply your knowledge, skills and experience to draw private-sector investment and achieve significant environmental improvements, social and public realm benefits and economic activity through revitalization of the Toronto waterfront.

The TWRC is an independent, not-for-profit corporation comprising the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario and the City of Toronto as partners. Each partner has committed $500 million to the initiative. TWRC's mandate is to lead and oversee Toronto waterfront revitalization activities in a designated area from Coxwell Avenue to Dowling Avenue.

Citizens appointed to the TWRC Board will live in Toronto, understand public process, have leadership experience in one or more of urban planning and development, brownfield remediation, economic development, development financing, human resources, successful implementation of complex business strategies and/or comprehensive city building initiatives, and have experience as a director in the public or private sectors. We encourage applications from candidates reflecting Toronto's diverse population.

Employees of the City or any of its agencies, boards or commissions, or persons appointed to another City board, are not eligible to be appointed. All responses to Organization Consulting are confidential.

Please indicate your interest in Project 206-14 by email to:
directors@organizationconsulting.ca, or in writing to Organization Consulting, 156 Duncan Mill Road, Suite 5, Toronto, Ontario, M3B 3N2 by April 3, 2006.
