| The Toronto Waterfront Design Initiative (TWDI) was an international design process that began in August, 2002.
The focus of the TWDI was a three-day intensive design charrette in mid-October, 2002, during which six architectural teams from Canada, the United States and Europe gathered in Toronto to explore design ideas for specific areas of the East Bayfront and the Port Lands, in line with the City's Central Waterfront Secondary Plan.
