Established by Council in 2001 as a subcommittee of the Policy and Finance Committee, the Waterfront Reference Group coordinates input from staff, ABCs, stakeholders, the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation and the public. Its mandate includes:
assessing the impact of the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation's plans on City interests
reviewing the plans of the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation on Council's behalf and providing advice to Standing Committees and Council on directions and actions
reviewing project plans anticipated by City departments and ABCs respecting waterfront issues to ensure their consistency with the overall direction of waterfront revitalization.
