Established by Council in 2001 as a subcommittee of the Policy and Finance Committee, the Waterfront Reference Group coordinates input from staff, ABCs, stakeholders, the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation and the public. Its mandate includes:

  • assessing the impact of the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation's plans on City interests
  • reviewing the plans of the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation on Council's behalf and providing advice to Standing Committees and Council on directions and actions
  • reviewing project plans anticipated by City departments and ABCs respecting waterfront issues to ensure their consistency with the overall direction of waterfront revitalization.
