 Knowing
about the work of others to improve the environment was a priority
of the Environmental Task Force. The following directories contain
information from local businesses and organizations about their
environmental activities.

The Directories
are based on surveys* that were sent to local businesses
and organizations with an invitation to showcase and share information
about their activities related to Sustainable Transportation, Sustainable
Energy Use, Education and Awareness and Green Economic Development.
Our immediate goal was to produce an easily accessible, printed
resource for those wishing to support and become involved in environmentally
sustainable activities in Toronto. Wherever possible the directories
include contact information, websites and references to other published
resources to maximize its effectiveness as a networking tool.
Please note that
the information in these directories is based on information collected
in 1999 and 2000.
*The listings
in these directories describe the goals and activities of each individual
group, project or resource and do not necessarily reflect the goals,
policies or activities of the City of Toronto and Detour Publications.
Submissions were written and approved by the contact people listed
in this directory. The responsibility of including themselves in
the directories is in the hands of the individuals listed. Special
