The New & Emerging
Technologies Policies & Practices Advisory Group has completed
its mandate and is no longer active. The following information
is provided for archival purposes.
The following
background information was provided to the Advisory Group to give
the members some general background on the waste management programs
within the City of Toronto. Also included are relevant Ministry
of the Environment policies, information about integrated solid
waste management programs, a glossary of waste management terms
and a reference list for additional reading. A brief introduction
to emerging technologies is included in section 9 and a list of
potentially new policies and practices can be found in section 10.
