Gunns Road and St Clair partial road closure April 16-19
Weather permitting, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16 to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010, reconstruction of the south roadway of the St. Clair/Old Stock Yards Road intersection will require a complete road closure of Old Stock Yards Road at St. Clair Avenue. Safety measures such as barrier fences will be in place surrounding the construction zone. Businesses may need to re-direct their delivery routes by using alternate local streets. Old Weston Road to Gunns Road and Loop - March 6
The majority of heavy construction, new track, streetcar passenger platforms, roadway and sidewalk work from McRoberts to Keele Street/Weston Road is now completed. Overhead streetcar power line and poles remain to be installed. Upcoming work from 150 metres west of Gunns Road to Old Weston Road include TTC track allowance, roadway reconstruction, Gunns Loop and landscape work.

Schedule for Return of Streetcar Service
Streetcar service is scheduled to return as far west as Lansdowne Avenue before the end of December 2009. Service to the Gunns Loop is scheduled to return in Spring 2010. The website will be updated as soon as specific dates are confirmed.

Old Weston Road Intersection - Nov 13-16
A partial road closure of Old Weston Road at St. Clair Ave. West is scheduled from Friday, November 13 at 7:00pm until Monday, November 16 at 7:00 am. to ensure permanent removal of the existing rails and roadway reconstruction can be completed as quickly as possible. Public Notice (PDF).
Keele Street Intersection - Nov 6, 2009
Beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6 to 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, streetcar track reconstruction and roadwork will take place at the intersection of Keele Street and St. Clair Avenue West.

Sidewalk and Roadway Upgrades - Oakwood to Westmount (North Side)
Update - November 3, 2009. Major upgrades of the sidewalks and roadway on the north side of St. Clair Avenue West from Oakwood Avenue to Westmount Avenue are nearing completion. Construction crews are aiming to return vehicular access between St. Clair Avenue West and all streets between Oakwood Avenue and Westmount Avenue on (or before) November 15.
Sidewalk and Roadway Upgrades - Oakwood to Westmount (North Side)
Starting on Monday, September 28, 2009 the sidewalks and roadway on the north side of St. Clair Avenue West from Oakwood Avenue to Westmount Avenue will be reconstructed.

New sidewalk reconstruction is scheduled to begin in mid September on the south side of St. Clair from Glenholme Avenue to Westmount Avenue. Please see the

Old Weston Road Intersection Construction
Please note that there has been a change in traffic restrictions. The southbound traffic on Old Weston Road will
not be permitted to make a right turn onto St. Clair Avenue West from Friday October 16, to October 20th at 7:00am.

Due to forecasted weather, the intersection closure scheduled from October 2nd to October 5th has been re-scheduled to

Alberta Avenue Intersection (North Side)
Beginning at 7:00am on Monday, September 14, to the morning of Friday, September 18, a partial road closure will be required at the intersection of St. Clair/Alberta Avenue to accommodate track re-construction at the northeast side of the intersection.

Beginning at 6:00am on Friday, Sept. 11 to 7:00am on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 the reconstruction of the westbound curb lane will require a partial road closure of Old Weston Road at the St. Clair Ave. West intersection.

Silverthorn Avenue Intersection
Beginning at 7:00am on Tuesday, September 8 to 6:00pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 the reconstruction of TTC tracks will require a road closure of Silverthorn Avenue and Hounslow Heath Road at St. Clair Avenue West.

Yonge Street to Bathurst Street: Transportation Services Road and Sidewalk Upgrades
From late August to late October 2009, City Transportation Services has scheduled new work that was not part of the St. Clair Avenue West Transit Improvements Project. Some sidewalks and the roadway between signalized intersections from Yonge Street to Bathurst Street will be upgraded. Please see the

Laughton Avenue Intersection
Beginning at 6:00am on Wednesday, September 2nd to 5:00pm on Saturday, September 5, reconstruction of the roadway will require a partial road closure at the intersection of St. Clair Ave. West and Laughton Ave. Please see the

Caledonia Road Intersection
On Saturday, September 5th between 7:00am and 3:00pm the surface asphalt paving will require a partial road closure at the intersection of St. Clair/Caledonia. Please see the

Oakwood/St. Clair Intersection Track Replacement
Beginning at 6:00am on Monday June 22 to 7:00am on Thursday, July 9, 2009, the replacement of streetcar tracks and work to critical underground infrastructure will require a partial road closure at the intersection of St. Clair/Oakwood. The work will primarily affect north and southbound traffic on Oakwood. One lane EB and WB will be maintained on St. Clair across the intersection. Please see the

Caledonia and St. Clair Avenue - Intersection Construction June 12-15, 2009
Beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009 to 6:00am on Monday, June 15, 2009 a partial road closure will be required at the intersection of St. Clair/Caledonia to accommodate lane and roadway reconstruction.

June 2009 - Sidewalk Construction: Humewood to Arlington
Pending weather, new sidewalk reconstruction is scheduled to begin on the north side of St. Clair from west of Humewood towards Arlington Avenue on Monday, June 8th at 7:00am. The work is being scheduled to finish in advance of the Salsa on St. Clair Festival.

Phase 4: McRoberts Avenue to east of Old Weston Road
Beginning on December 1st, 2008, watermain upgrades started at McRoberts Avenue and are proceeding westward to Old Weston Road. The watermain work is being coordinated in advance of the final phase of streetcar track reconstruction. Hydro wires in this section will be undergrounded to improve the streetscape. Please see

Sidewalk Upgrades - Christie to Wychwood
Pending weather, new sidewalk reconstruction is scheduled to begin on the north side of St. Clair between Christie Street and Wychwood Avenue on Monday, May 4, 2009. Pending weather, this work will take approximately 1 week to complete.

Robina Avenue and St. Clair intersection
Beginning at 7:00am on Saturday, May 2 to 4:00pm on Saturday, May 23, 2009, major construction involving the replacement of streetcar tracks is scheduled at the intersection of St. Clair/Robina. Please see the

Alberta/St. Clair Intersection - Partial Closure
Beginning at 7am on Wednesday, April 15 to 4pm on Thursday, April 23, 2009 a partial road closure will be required at the intersection of St. Clair/Alberta to accommodate track construction activity through the intersection. The partial closure of the intersection will primarily affect southbound and northbound through traffic. TTC service will be maintained on St Clair Avenue during this intersection work. Please see

Winona/St. Clair Intersection - Partial Intersection Closure
Beginning at 7am on Thursday, March 26 to 7am on Thursday, April 2, 2009 a partial road closure will be required at the intersection of St. Clair/Winona to accommodate track construction activity through the intersection.
During the partial closure, one lane of traffic along St. Clair Ave. in both directions will remain open, allowing vehicles to travel through the intersection. However, traffic travelling on Winona Drive in either direction will not be able to cross the intersection. The partial closure of the intersection will also temporarily prohibit left-hand turns in all directions. TTC service will be maintained on St Clair Avenue during this intersection work.
Christie Street Intersection Construction
Construction at the intersection of St. Clair Ave and Christie St. was completed on schedule from March 12 to March 19. Please see the
Public Notice(PDF). Construction at the Arlington Avenue and St. Clair intersection is scheduled from March 19 to March 26.
Update: Wychwood Intersection Construction
Wychwood intersection work has been re-scheduled to proceed from March 4 to March 12. This schedule will allow track work to be completed in a single stage, thereby reducing the number of closures required and inconvenience to the public.

Feb 18, 2009 Phase 3 Update: Vaughan Road to Westmount Avenue
Starting on Thursday, February 26, 2009, streetcar tracks are being excavated starting just west of Vaughan Road, westward to Westmount Avenue. The TTC is scheduling the return of streetcar service from St. Clair Station to the Lansdowne streetcar loop in Fall 2009.

October 2008 Update: Vaughan Road to Westmount Avenue
Starting during the week of October 20, 2008, streetcar tracks are scheduled to be constructed at the Oakwood Loop. Work includes construction of the entry tracks on Robina Avenue and the exit tracks on Oakwood Avenue. Please see the

Dufferin St. and St. Clair Avenue West Intersection Construction
Intersection construction at Dufferin Street is scheduled to begin on Friday, January 11 to Tuesday, January 15, 2008. Please see the notice PDF) for more information.
Via Italia Intersection Construction
The intersection of Via Italia and St. Clair Ave. West will be partially closed on Thursday, January 10 from 9am until 11:59pm for TTC track removal. Please see the News Release (PDF) for more information.
**UPDATED Partial Intersection Closures Avenue Road and St. Clair Avenue
North Side of Intersection November 17th - November 19th
Starting at 10:00am on Friday, November 17th until Sunday, November 19th at 7:00am all southbound traffic along Avenue Road will be diverted at Heath Street. There will be advisory signs placed to warn motorists of this diversion well in advance. Commencing at 7:00pm on Friday, November 17th all northbound traffic along Avenue Road will be diverted eastbound or westbound on St. Clair Avenue. One lane eastbound and westbound will be maintained along St. Clair Avenue through the intersection. Motorists are encouraged to use Yonge Street or Bathurst Street as alternatives. Avenue Road will be opened to north south traffic on Sunday, November 19th to accommodate traffic to and from the Santa Clause Parade.
***UPDATED*** South Side of Intersection, November 24th - November 27th
Beginning at 10:00am on Friday November 24th all southbound traffic on Avenue Road will be diverted eastbound or westbound on St. Clair Avenue West . Northbound traffic on Avenue Road will be diverted at Davenport Road beginning at 7pm All traffic will re-open at 5:00am Monday November 27th. One lane eastbound and westbound will be maintained along St. Clair Avenue through the intersection. Motorists are encouraged to use Yonge Street or Bathurst Street as alternatives.

Partial Intersection Closure, Deer Park Road and St. Clair Avenue West
No north or southbound traffic will be permitted across the St. Clair Avenue West intersection at Deer Park Road. There will be one lane maintained eastbound and westbound along St. Clair Avenue West. Motorists travelling southbound on Deer Park Road will be permitted to turn right to access St. Clair Avenue westbound. Right turns onto Deer Park Road will also be permitted for westbound traffic on St. Clair Avenue. Condominium and office buildings on the south side of St. Clair Avenue can be accessed by motorists travelling eastbound on St. Clair. Right turns from those buildings onto St. Clair Avenue West will be permitted. Please see the

Partial Intersection Closure, Avenue Road and St. Clair Avenue
Beginning at 9:30am on Friday October 6th southbound traffic on Avenue Road will be closed through the St. Clair Avenue intersection, and northbound traffic through the St. Clair intersection will be closed beginning at 7:00pm. This partial closure will be in effect until 5:00am Tuesday, October 10th. Please see the

Partial Intersection Closure St. Clair Avenue West and Spadina Road
Beginning at 9:30am on Friday September 29th until 6:00am on Monday October 2nd, the intersection of Spadina Road and St. Clair Avenue will be partially closed to accommodate the rebuilding of crosswalks across Spadina Road on the north and east side of St. Clair Avenue. During the partial closure of the intersection, a traffic lane east and west on St. Clair Avenue will remain open. All access from St. Clair Avenue to Spadina Road will be prohibited. There will be no access to St. Clair Avenue from Spadina Road from either north or south. Traffic is directed to use Heath Street and Lonsdale Road to the north and Davenport Road to the south as alternatives. For more information please see the

Partial Road Closure
Eastbound traffic will be closed on St. Clair Avenue East from Avoca Avenue to Yonge Street starting on September 18th**, and is scheduled to re-open October 2nd to accommodate the work being done on the St. Clair Station Streetcar loop. Please see

Ferndale Avenue to Avenue Road
Commencing the week of September 5, 2006 construction will begin on Contract 1. Work is scheduled to begin at the St. Clair Station streetcar loop. Other work will begin on the sidewalks, streetcar tracks, and finally the road on St. Clair Avenue from Ferndale Avenue to Avenue Road. Work will proceed westward and include the Avenue Road intersection. St. Clair and Avenue Road sidewalk work is scheduled to take place starting the weekend of September 15th** and will be completed on weekends, with weekday work being done as required. Partial Intersection Closure St. Clair Avenue West and Spadina Road
Beginning at 9:30am on Friday September 8th until 6:00am on Monday September 11th, the intersection of Spadina Road and St. Clair Avenue West will be partially closed. East and westbound lanes will remain open along St. Clair and right hand turns will be permitted from Spadina onto St. Clair. Tweedsmuir Avenue to Vaughan Road
Starting at 9:30am on Thursday August 10 Bathurst Street between St. Clair Avenue West and Vaughan Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction, and will fully close on Friday August 11 at 9:30am and re-open 6:00am Monday August 14. St. Clair Avenue West between Vaughan Road and Hilton Avenue will be reduced to one lane westbound from 9:30am on Thursday August 10 and reopen 6:00am Monday August 14.
